Test method for slump: Utilize a trumpet-shaped slump bucket with an upper opening of 100mm, a lower opening of 200mm, and a height of 300mm, and fill the concrete in three installments. After each filling, employ a tamping hammer to evenly strike the bucket wall from the outside to the inside for 25 times. After tamping, level it off. Then, lift up the bucket, and the concrete will slump due to its own weight. The difference between the height of the bucket (300mm) and the height of the concrete after slumping is defined as the slump. If the difference is 10mm, the slump is 10.
The concrete slump should be determined based on the structural section of the building, the content of steel reinforcement, the transportation distance, the pouring method, the transportation mode, the vibrating capacity, and the climatic conditions. When selecting the mix proportion, comprehensive consideration should be given, and a smaller slump should be adopted.
The slump is applicable to concrete mixtures with high fluidity (slump value not less than 10mm, aggregate particle size not greater than 40mm). The consistency of concrete mixtures with a slump not exceeding 50mm or those of dry, hardened concrete and ultra-hardened concrete with a Weibull consistency exceeding 30s can be determined using the consolidation factor method.
